Background
John Snow, Inc. (JSI) and Nexleaf with GaviI funding are providing technical assistance to the Tanzania Ministry of Health Community Development Gender Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC) Immunization and Vaccine Development (IVD) Program, to install Remote Temperature Monitoring Devices (ColdTrace devices) in selected health facilities sites in Tanzania to monitor immunization cold chain equipment performance. Remote Temperature Monitoring (RTM) systems provide continuous real-time temperature monitoring with real-time alarms that alert health workers and supervisors to dangerous temperature excursions, as well as a real-time dashboard for on-going monitoring and issue tracking. JSI is hiring a Deployment Advisor to support the Immunization and Vaccine Development (IVD) Program and the Regional and Districts team during the deployment of the Cold Trace system.
Overall Responsibilities:
The Technical Deployment Officer will provide technical assistance in the project implementation ranging from identification of sites, training on the installation and use of the devices from the national to the facility level, and monitoring of the performance post installation. S/he is responsible for progress reporting and will be acting as the project point of contact with the supported health facilities and other stakeholders. S/he will report to the project manager who provides general management oversight.  
Specific activities include:
• Work with IVD-LTWG and the Nexleaf team to develop training curriculum for Cold Trace System end users
• Provide on-site support during initial and ongoing training of end users
• Lead on the troubleshooting of devices during project deployment
• Track ColdTrace devices, and resultant issues with devices in health facilities
• Provide initial point of contact for troubleshooting on encountered issues by device users and communicating this to the Project manager.Source: AjiraLeo Tanzania
• Travelling to the field sites for monitoring and evaluation support
• Collecting information as requested by Project Manager and Nexleaf team members
• Represent RTM project in the IVD LTWG meetings when called upon to do so
• Work with Nexleaf to customize the RTM dashboard to suite the need of IVD
• Prepare regular reports on project deployment status
• Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager
• Design and initiate regular review of the RTM data for on-going monitoring
• Support IVD, DIVO’s and RIVO’s to address escalated alarms generated by the ColdTrace devices.
• Work with Nexleaf to develop use cases for dashboard integration with VIMS
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 5+ year relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master degree in Public Health will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with the Tanzanian immunization program
• Experience with the immunization cold chain system in Tanzania
• Be a technology power user, excited to learn even more
• Be familiar/conversant with cell phone networks in TZ (Telecoms)
• An effective communicator, proficiency in English (essential) and Swahili
• Able to build clear diagnostic reports regarding issues encountered by users of the RTM devices and the dashboard
• Strong troubleshooting skills that can be leveraged for RTM devices.
• Able to work in diverse cultural settings.
• Be able to travel within the country for up to 60% of his/her time.
• Be a proactive problem solver 
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with immunization program particularly of RTM related project will be an added advantage.Source: AjiraLeo Tanzania
