The Higher Education Student Loan Board (HESLB) has announced the extension of the online loan application period for seven days until Friday, August 23, 2019 to allow applicants who have not completed their application to use the extended time to do so.

HESLB CEO Abdul-Razaq Badru said in Dar es Salaam today (Thursday, August 15, 2019) that HESLB began receiving loan applications for the 2019/2020 academic year on July 1 this year and the deadline was supposed to be today, August 15, 2019.

 According to Badru, HESLB has received requests from some credit applicants who have not completed their application due to various reasons including missing important documents.
 “Although to date this morning (August 15, 2019) we have received 74,821 completed online applications, we have also received requests from our clients requesting additional time to complete important documents such as copies of their parents' death certificates, letters from their sponsors and many documents.
