NBS Training Opportunity – Sampling Methodology Training 2022 | SENSA TRAINING NBS Training Opportunity – Sampling Methodology Training Course Description:This course will concentrate on practical sampling issues and would cover multiple topics – simple random sampling, systematic sampling, single-stage sampling, probability proportional to size sampling, probability proportional to estimated size sampling, two-stage sampling; multistage sampling, designs for regional and sub-regional domain estimation, nonresponse adjustments, post-stratification, replication-based variance estimation methods, with practical examples of sampling designs used in Tanzania and other African countries. The more intermediate to advanced topics will focus on nonprobability sampling, small area estimation, disaggregating the indicators of the sustainable development goals (SDG), poverty mapping. The R software is main programming language for this training. The target beneficiaries of this course are Statisticians and Survey Specialists from the NBS, OCGS and MDAs.
Course Delivery:
10 sessions to be delivered over 10 weeks – one full day of class per week over 10 weeks. The course will adopt a blended learning methodology with a combination of virtual training sessions facilitated by in-person/physical facilitators. Classes, which will take place in Zanzibar and Dodoma, are tentatively scheduled to start mid-June 2022.
